Dr. Anson Yew

 

Anson Yew, M.D., is a medical physician who has been practicing and teaching Family Medicine for over thirty years. In addition to doctoring, Yew enjoys designing architectural interior spaces, volunteering with local nonprofits, and hosting pop-up philanthropic exhibitions at his gallery, Exhale Unlimited, in Los Angeles’ Chinatown.This is his first venture of creating a collection of his personal works.

Months prior to COVID-19, Yew felt led to paint some reflective art pieces which explores and affirms his identity as an Asian American.

Now amid this global pandemic, and with heightened xenophobia and violence towards Asians and Asian Americans, this exhibition is even more relevant to our current culture and context.

Yew is a first-generation Chinese American who lives in Los Angeles with his wife and has two kids in college.
